One of the PA communities we know and serve.
Glenshaw is an unincorporated community in Allegheny County, north of Pittsburgh. Much of Glenshaw lies within Shaler Township, which provides its local government services, and the community shares the 15116 ZIP code.
The community traces its roots to a log sawmill built by John Shaw, Sr., who bought 600 acres of land north of Pittsburgh in 1800. The area became known as "Shaw's Glen," and later Glenshaw. From 1907 to 1931 the Pittsburgh and Butler Street Railway, an interurban line, ran through the township and linked it with Pittsburgh and Butler.
Glenshaw is home to the Glenshaw Public Library, founded in 1895 and housed in the historic "White Elephant" building on Butler Plank Road, as well as the Shaler North Hills Library on Mount Royal Boulevard and several Shaler Township parks, including Kiwanis Park, Fall Run Park and Ellen Hughes Park.
